Escape the crowds of Seven Mile Beach for this peaceful North Side oasis. Welcome to Northern Lights, a 9-unit complex of privately owned two-story townhomes nestled in Old Man Bay.
Northern Lights #5 is one of the few 3-bedroom homes within the complex, measuring 2,400 sq. ft., and able to sleep 8 guests.
Lush tropical landscaping surrounds this small sliver of paradise with 240 feet of natural beachfront, sweeping panoramic views, and a protected coral reef teeming with marine life. Some of the island's best snorkeling and dive sites can be found right outside your door!
Alternatively, guests can relax above the waves on the shared private dock with cabana, or lounge poolside soaking in the sun and beautiful ocean views.
Inside, the downstairs layout is entirely open-concept with ocean views throughout.
A full kitchen with modern appliances overlooks a fully furnished living area with walk-out access to a screened porch. The living area has all the comforts of home with sofa seating and an entertainment center with cable television. Relax with a movie after a day of fun and sun, or kick back on the screened porch and enjoy the beautiful Caribbean views.
For indoor dining, a small dining table just off the kitchen seats four with the kitchen island seating another four guests. For meals with an ocean view, the screened porch dining table seats six guests. A propane grill is also provided for island cookouts.

- Primary Suite – upper-level, king bed, ocean views, walk-out access to a private screened balcony, ensuite bath with dual vanity, and shower.
- Guest Suite – upper-level, queen bed, garden views, ensuite with shower bath.
- Bunk Room – lower level, two sets of bunk beds that sleep 4 children or 2 adults, shares hall bathroom equipped with shower bath.
The home is equipped with central air conditioning but trade winds tend to keep the home cool throughout with multiple ceiling fans. A washer and dryer also come included on the lower level.
The owner provides a complimentary tandem kayak for guest use with a signed waiver required.
Nearby, Northern Lights is within minutes of a small grocery store, two beachfront resorts, and some of the best restaurants on the island. The airport and Seven Mile Beach are roughly a 40-minute drive away.

Beach Notes
With a central location on the island, the homes in Old Man Bay offer perhaps the best shore diving and snorkeling on all of Grand Cayman.
The beaches are mostly sand, but can also be pebbly with natural rock formations. Either way, with the varied marine life we have in the water, you will want to wear pool shoes or fins for foot protection. The beaches here offer great seashell collecting and turtle sightings in summer!
Old Man Bay is only 5 minutes from two large resorts in the east end (Morritt's and The Reef) that offer manicured beaches as well as restaurants, a modern grocery store, a liquor store, gift shops, and a cafe/pastry shop. Cayman Crystal Caves is also located in Old Man Bay.
Kurt's Korner and Over the Edge are two local restaurants about one mile away. Both serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner at reasonable prices.
About 15 minutes to the west of Old Man Bay is the famous Rum Point Club with water sports, dining options, and a barefoot beach.

The shoreline quality behind your property may vary slightly from the images on our website due to shifting tides and weather patterns. The next-door beach is also always available for your use.
Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed
Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally.
Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency over the years during the summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked prior to your arrival.
Should sargassum weed be extremely heavy behind your property, we will reach out to the owner for alternative solutions which may include a partial refund or relocation.

Loved the View!
We loved our view & loved how the condo was equipped to cook meals.
Quiet, Peaceful Gem
Northern Lights #5 is in our favorite area of the island. We love this quiet peaceful gem. There is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy. The 2 sets of bunk beds were a big hit with the kids. The screened in porch is the perfect spot to enjoy coffee and drink in the view. The pool is well maintained and very refreshing. The short pier provided another place to sit and enjoy the glorious views. The ladder on the pier provided easy access to snorkeling. It was a wonderful week! We will be back again for another vacation in the future.
Perfect For Our Family
Beautiful setting right on the beach was perfect for our family. Easy to relax on the patio and keep sight on kids playing in the pool and on the grounds. Beach is gorgeous. Well advertised in the listing as not a sandy beach. For what it lacks in sand, it makes up for in beauty, privacy and snorkeling. The kayaks were a great addition to the condo and allowed for fun trips to the far side of the reef that lies just 200yds off the end of the dock. The water is shallow enough for safe and easy snorkeling for the kids, yet beyond the reef is deeper and clear water that is fun for even the most advanced. The condo is a bit off the beaten path, which we LOVED. A short drive takes you to some wonderful, not to miss attractions, like Rum point beaches, starfish point, the crystal caverns and activities on the East end. A day trip to 7 mile beach is worth the drive, but after a full day of crowds and packed beaches, the escape back to the condo is perfect!
Northern Lights Review
Perfect location if the winds allow for snorkeling on the northside and you don’t mind being away from the 7 mile beach resort area. The dock w/ Tiki structure was perfect for getting out beyond the iron shore and a great spot to catch the sunset. Condo had plenty of room for our family of 6. Having access to a double kayak and snorkeling gear provided by GCV was also huge plus!
Lovely Property
Overall the property is lovely. So happy we stayed there and not on Seven Mile Beach. Condo could use a little TLC but the location is awesome and you can snorkel right out front.
Lovely Location
If you are looking a relaxed stay you can’t beat the north side of the island. Northern Lights is a fantastic location. The unit itself is nice. Could use some TLC. We had a couple of issues upon arrival but they were addressed in a timely manner. A big plus was being able to snorkle off the dock right out back of the condo.
Perfect getaway
We couldn’t have ask for a better week, the condo was filled with everything we needed and so much more. Such a beautiful and serene place!

We had a wonderful time and the weather on the northside was great, made for some amazing snorkeling right out front. Loved the solitude, pool, easy entry for swimming in pool and ocean!! We were able to make it across the reef easily as the water was so calm! Condo has everything we needed and more!

Fantasic Villa With Everythng You Could Need
Northern Lights is an immaculate villa with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The screened n porch areas outside the living room and upstairs off the master bedroom give an amazing view of the sea and pool area. While we were there it was very quiet and the property is well maintained. Supper quiet part of thew island but only 20 minutes away from many different eating spots for lunch and or dinner, all which were excellent. The best part about this side of the island is the restaurants have wonderful food and you are not rushed. Plenty of places near by to purchase liquor and food. Due to the high winds we could not go snorkeling off the beach but it looked lovely. The property manager stopped by to see if everything was meeting our expectations and it was. The booking process was flawless with immediate responses upon all inquiries including the actual booking. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need . The villa has a large TV and games to play if you want. If your looking for peace and quiet you have found it at Northern Lights #5.
Amazing Stay
My family & I had an amazing stay at the northern lights condo. The view was breathtaking. Condo was very clean and had all the amenties we needed. Will be staying here again & would recommend it to anyone visting grand cayman!
Great Stay
We stayed at Northern Lights for just over a week. It was plenty of room for our family of 4. The house was clean, the proximity to restaurants was great and we really felt like we were on vacation. We went into Georgetown and after walking around a bit we were ready to go back to the North Side. I was hesitant to snorkel because I wasn\'t sure how deep the water was but you can stand as did my 11 year old. We saw a few fish, urchin and just underwater beauty. We used the pool almost everyday. And, there was only one or two other families while we were there so it was like we had the place to ourselves. The kitchen is FULLY stocked and the rooms were a nice size. We had such a good time my teenager told us 3 times she didn't want to leave. We really felt relaxed and like were took a step back from life to regroup. My husband used the gym at Silver Thatch and said it was a good gym and he enjoyed his work out. It's about a 5 minute ride from the house.

Great Spot for our Family
Had a fantastic trip to the Grand Caymans and enjoyed our stay at Northern Lights #5. This townhouse served as the perfect \'base\' for us as we rented a car and traveled around the island. Nice, quiet, and roomy location with great snorkeling and views right outside your door - sunsets are amazing. It is located on a natural beach (smaller and rockier) as noted in the description, but was a short trip over to Seven Mile beach when we wanted a change of pace and a different type of beach (more crowded but larger and smoother sand). Great spot for our family with 4 active boys (ages 10 - 15).
Wonderful Month Long Stay
This was our first trip to Grand Cayman. We\'ve spent years going to Hawaii and wanted to try something new. Northern Lights #5 is just perfect! It is the quiet side of the island (and a quiet complex) which is what we wanted. We had the beach and pool to ourselves almost every day. The snorkeling out front is amazing. Ocean Frontiers is just down the road and is a world class diving outfit. The villa is well laid out and well thought out by owners who clearly know what renters would need or want. It is equipped with everything you need and then some. The furnishings are extremely comfortable, everything is labeled and easy to use, the kitchen is fully stocked with equipment and basic supplies. The decks and furniture make evening meals / sunsets a breeze. There are restaurants, local beaches and a small grocery, as well as Star Fish Point and Rum Point, within easy driving distance. Seven Mile Beach / restaurants were a short drive (avoid high traffic times) and quite pleasant. NL has a hard side cooler, a soft side cooler, beach chairs (very comfortable) and beach toys for use. We stayed for a month and had no issues! The property manager and Silver Thatch welcome center were easy to contact as well. (We borrowed a shower chair from Silver Thatch for the trip duration.) Everything - from booking to arriving to deposit refund - was done quickly and professionally. We can\'t wait to come back! (My husband says he prefers this trip / this condo over all of our Hawaii vacations!)
Great house with all the amenities
This house was very clean and inviting. It was well stocked with kitchen supplies, towels and beach stuff. We did some cooking and found everything that we needed. The property was fantastic, with the pool and beach right off the patio. It’s not a nice sandy beach and it’s not really for swimming, but right off the dock and out a little bit was pretty good snorkeling. We really enjoyed hanging out on the dock watching the sunsets. The Silver Thatch amenities were great, too. Be sure to stop in the adjoining liquor store; the man working there was super helpful! The only issue that we had was that the dryer wasn’t working during our stay (we weren’t told in advance, which would have been nice, as we do laundry while we vacation). We were provided clothes drying racks and we made that work for us. The location is beautiful and quiet…not a lot going on at that end of the island. Rum Point was closed, so not any night life. We drove to the west end a few times during our stay for the day. Overall, great stay.
Easter Break Staycation
Just wanted to say we had a great Easter weekend, everything was beyond expectations. Great location, beautiful pool and ocean view. I would definitely go back and recommend to my friends. Thanks Ms Judy for all your assistance, very much appreciated. Once again great place for a peaceful getaway.

Unable to Travel due to Pandemic
We unfortunately did not get to spend what would have been an incredible week at this villa in Grand Cayman due to the pandemic. But the communication we received from Grand Cayman Villas was above and beyond anything we could have anticipated. Consistent, clear, frequent emails letting us know where things stood regarding the island, the airport and what they were doing in their end to help us. Because of this we will be ecstatic to rebook this villa when all of this is over and we are able to finally visit Grand Cayman for the first time!
Could Not Have Been Better
We were so very pleased with our week stay at Northern Lights #5. The property is gorgeous and met every need that we had to have a wonderful time on Grand Cayman. We took full advantage of the pool, beach, dock, and reef areas with swimming and snorkeling each day of our stay. The condo was so well equipped, comfortable, and family friendly...this was a very memorable experience for all of us. This was our second trip to Grand Cayman. If we visit again we will definitely book our accommodations with Grand Cayman Villas and Condos.

Repeat Visit!!!!
We stayed at Northern Lights #5 last year. Enjoyed our stay so much that we had to come back. This property is exactly as described. Fully stocked kitchen and nicely furnished living room and bedrooms. With the unit being located on the North End of Grand Cayman, the location is very quiet and relaxing. Plus it is only a short drive from Rum Point. We plan on coming back again to Northern Lights #5 next year. 🙂

Perfect Spot for Easy Water Entry
This townhouse has everything you need, and is very well maintained. The best thing about it for us was just steps to a wooden pier in back, where you drop into the water (or down a ladder) and swim only about two minutes straight out to a beautiful reef. Saw Longfin Squid and a stingray in addition to a wide variety of fish. Five stars!
Best Vacation of Our Lives!
This rental property is everything you can imagine! The view was spectacular, the place was very clean and the location was perfect! This was one of the best vacations of our lives so far and having a great place to stay at helps contribute to that!

Peaceful and Quiet
This property (Northern Lights #5) is very peaceful and quiet: A perfect place to relaxed and to rejuvenate your mind, body and soul. We had 6 people in our party and had plenty room. The kayak was a great addition, our teenage boys loved it. We had issues with the master shower and cooking stove but the property manager was working on getting both issues resolved. This place is truly beautiful an a perfect place for a family vacation, the sunsets are truly amazing, Would definitely recommend this place and I look forward to visiting the island again and staying here.

Great property and location for my family of 7. Booking was easy and responsive. Nice and remote. Took a half-day snorkeling and stingray city trip using Silver Thatch charters. Snorkeling was great right out front of unit! Neat restaurants nearby...Liked Eagle Ray the best. Caught some nice fish (e.g., tarpon) right from the dock. Great place if you don\'t like crowds and high level of commercialization. Highly recommend.

Really nice property. Everything was as stated in the description. Could snorkel right out front and see beautiful fish. Lots of good local restaurants nearby. Easy check in and check out. Quaint as well. Very quiet and non-commercial location.
Amazing!
Northern Lights # 5 was just perfect for our family of five (2 adults, 3 kids- jr. high and high school aged). The property itself is well kept and stocked with everything you need for cooking, relaxation and enjoyment. Views from the master bedroom and porch are fantastic. Outside pool is perfect and the beach is great. It\'s a little rocky but there were extra swim shoes to borrow or just use the ladder of the dock to get in as well. We snorkeled out there and kayaked. This side of the island is much more quite and not as busy as 7 Mile so you are able to drive around, explore plus there are lots of restaurants all within a few miles each way. Rum point is a great atmosphere with restaurants, beaches to swim/snorkle, hang out and relax ( plus you can book all activities here - StingRay City, rented wave runners, etc). The Lighthouse is a nice upscale restaurant which we enjoyed plus lots of others like Tukka ( hit the happy hour), Eagle Rays, etc. I do recommend renting a car for at least a few days(we did the whole week) to get around but I loved being on our own schedule and feeling like we had the place and beach to ourselves. The Caves, Mastic Trail, Rum Point, Morritts and Kaibo Beach Club are all on this side so a lot to do. We did go over to 7 mile a few times but always glad to not have the busy streets and people all day long.
Would definitely stay here again and recommend this to others as well.
Fantastic Time!
We stayed at Northern Lights #5 and had a great time. For the first part of our visit to Grand Cayman we stayed at a dive hotel in Georgetown and wrapped up our last few days on the island at Northern Lights. After many dives on the West side of the island we took a few days to relax on the North Side and Northern Lights was the perfect place to do it. The wind picked up the last two days on the island but before it did we had a couple of days to snorkel the reef in front of the property. It’s shallow and care needs to be taken to avoid damage to the coral but there is plenty of sea life to see right out front; perhaps not as good as the diving on Grand Cayman but a good time nonetheless. While on the North Side we also visited Tortuga Dive and did a two tank dive on the East End to see the Reef Sharks. Overall we had a great time on Grand Cayman and especially enjoyed our time at Northern Lights; the unit had everything we could have possibly wanted, was well maintained (as was the surrounding property) and managed.
We will be back!
A True Gem
We stayed at Northern Lights for a week in January. The condo was bright and airy — and very clean. There were amazing ocean views from the living area and master bedroom. The owners thoughtfully provided everything that we needed, including a kayak. We could not snorkel or use the kayak due to strong winter winds (which I’m told are common this time of year), but I’m sure it would be spectacular if the ocean was calm. We have rented many places around the world and this place is truly exceptional. It is situated on the quiet side of Grand Cayman, which is a plus! All you can hear at night is the ocean, and in the daytime we saw parrots. We could drive to a few beach bars in 10 minutes (Eagle Ray’s is fantastic for lion fish tacos and Over the Edge restaurant is the BEST) and were able to get to our very favorite beach, Starfish Point, in 20 minutes. Despite being a condo, it felt very private and quiet. This place is a gem!

Lower Occupancy Discounts
Owner offers lower rates for fewer guests:
- Groups of 4 or fewer guests, staying over non-holiday nights, receive a discount of $50 off the daily rate.
- Unoccupied bedrooms will be locked off for the duration of your stay.
Occupancy Discounts are automatically applied against the full base rent when entering your dates and number of guests.
Booking Rules
- 5 nights minimum stay required year-round.
- 5 nights minimum and full occupancy required over Thanksgiving.
- 7 nights minimum and full occupancy required over Christmas and New Year's week.
- Christmas & New Year's dates are split into two rental periods. Please inquire with your travel dates prior to booking.
- Shorter stays may be available but subject to a higher cleaning fee. Please inquire before booking.
- Must be 25 years or older to book and must occupy the property during the entire stay.
Villa Cleaning & Sanitation
All villas are cleaned and sanitized prior to each guest's arrival. We also ask our owners to provide a starter supply of extra cleaning products.
Additional housekeeping services can be purchased after booking in 3-hour time blocks. Scheduling may be coordinated with your property manager upon arrival.

Getting Around
A rental car is highly recommended. Taxi cabs are unreliable and expensive outside of town and Seven Mile Beach. Plus, there is no Uber or Lyft on the island.
For rental cars, we recommend Budget Cayman, Avis, or Marshalls.
